Web design
The internet is a melting pot for new ideas
Web technology continues to progress at an alarming rate and the natural reaction of web professionals is to respond instantly to the latest trend. But is that what the customer actually needs? That may seem obvious, but too often websites are over-complicated by extensive use of innovative technology. The resulting website may not necessarily fulfil a company's needs, nor reflect its aims. Worse still, a complex website can exclude some web users from part, or all of the content. At that could mean that customers miss your message.
An attractive, original website is what your customers see and what makes their browsing experience enjoyable. Technology is simply what makes it work. A delicate balance has to be found between design and function, technology and simplicity. With careful design and planning, it is certainly possible to create visually appealing, intuitive websites by combining some of the more robust technologies with interactive elements such as Flash.
Arguably the most important consideration is speed. Although the growth in broadband subscriptions has been rapid, almost half of the internet users in the UK still use sluggish dial-up connections. The time it takes a web page to load is often the time it takes users to look elsewhere, losing you potential customers.
We don't shy away from advances in technology but we are not afraid to refine tried and tested design approaches. A website that works for your customers, works for you.
